Assessments : To be accredited a student must: 1.
Attend all sessions 2.
Be deemed competent in
the practical competencies 3.
Complete the CD-ROM and
provide a Theory Acknowledgement printed from the CD-ROM After
the course 1.
Provide a satisfactory on
the job competency assessment 2.
Attach the lesson plan
developed for the on the job competency assessment. |
Assessments : To
gain the award, the following assessment components must be satisfactorily
completed within 12 months of the course commencement date. 1.
On-line
theory assessment (completed after attending a course). 2.
Continuous
Aquatic Sequence. 3.
Practical
demonstration of teaching skills, including the preparation of lesson plans. 4.
Demonstrate
competence in water safety techniques. Candidates holding a current Bronze
Medallion, Pool Lifeguard or equivalent award, may gain an exemption by
providing a copy of the award. |

Certification : Students who successfully complete all the
requirements of the Swim Australia™ Teacher award are issued with the
following competencies in partial completion of the Certificate III in
Community Recreation. §

Certification : On successful completion of all course
requirements candidates will receive the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and
Water Safety certificate. Candidates
will also be issued a statement of attainment for the following units of
competency from the National Community Recreation Industry Training Package: ·
