Oz Swim Aquatics offers quality professional development for teachers
who wish to work with infants prior to the release of their specialist
course. All courses are endorsed by
ASCTA, Swim Australia and Swim Ed and gain relevant PD points towards
accreditation and renewal of current qualifications. Requirements : 1.

Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification §

Modules Include: 1.
Child development and
related health issues 2.
Methods of water
familiarization & Principles of teacher, parent and child relationships 3.
Infant aquatic
programming including songs, games and circuits |
Assessments: To gain the certificate, the following
assessment components must be satisfactorily completed within 12 months of
the course commencement date. 1.
Theory
assessment. 2. Demonstration of skills
for teaching purposes. 3. Lesson plans. 4. Practical teaching hours including
observation, supervised teaching and teaching assessment. It is recommended
candidates undertake 20 hours of supervised teaching experience prior to
assessment. 5. Show evidence of holding
a current cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) award. 6.

Certification : Gain
relevant Personal Development points towards your accreditation and renewal
of current qualifications |
Certification: On successful completion
of all course requirements candidates will receive the AUSTSWIM Teacher of
Infant Aquatics certificate. Candidates will also be issued a statement of
attainment for the following unit of competency from the National Community
Recreation Industry Training Package:
